    A commercial jet boat driver has been sentenced for operating dangerously on a popular South Island river


    Patrick Perkins's collided with a recreational jet boat on the Clutha River during a commercial run with four passengers on-board in December 2022.

    He was the sole director and driver for Go Jets Wanaka.

    The driver of the recreational jet boat survived, however, suffered significant injuries and was hospitalised.

    Perkins has been convicted and ordered to pay more than 51-thousand dollars, most of which he has already paid.
