A third Christchurch-based bid for an NRL franchise license has been launched, valued at 360 million dollars

The Southern Orcas have unveiled a plan for a 20-hectare sports centre - valued at 100 million - which would include seven training fields, gymnasiums, medical facilities and accommodation.

The Orcas will be funded by a group of private equity investors and chaired by former Kiwis coach Sir Graham Lowe.

They were reportedly one of the bids rejected by the NRL two weeks ago.
