A missing man's barking dog led to him being found - after days of searching

A missing man's barking dog led to him being found - after days of searching

David McHaffie went missing walking his dog Robey near Otaki, north of Wellington, on Saturday.

Searchers found the pair about 5pm yesterday after reports of barking.

They followed the dog's footprints and found the missing man nearby - and sent him to Wellington Hospital via helicopter.

Police suggest it's unlikely he would've been found without his furry friend.
