Winning lotto could be about to get several million times harder

Winning lotto could be about to get several million times harder

Lotto NZ bosses are keen to increase the number of balls in the Powerball draw and are seeking permission from the Government to change it.

The current odds of winning lotto are 1 in 38 million, adding just one ball to Powerball would increase that to 1 in 42.2 million.

Lotto NZ says more people are winning Powerball which means big jackpots are becoming less common.

Any change would need government approval.
