Mountain bikers are being warned to take extra care this summer

ACC data to October shows it received nearly three-thousand claims for mountain biking related injuries, costing 18.8 million dollars.
Bay of Plenty topped the claims list with 442 - followed by Otago then Canterbury.
Injury Prevention Lead James Whitaker says a lot of accidents happen when riders stop.
He advises choosing a good place to pull up - to avoid being hit by someone else coming down a track.
