    Worksafe is warning employers to make sure migrant workers understand safety risks


    Sidogg Investments was fined just over 280 thousand dollars in the Ashburton District Court yesterday after a worker received spinal injuries on a Canterbury dairy farm in 2018.

    WorkSafe chief inspector Steve Kelly says English is his second language and the man was unaware standing on a trailer draw bar was a hazard - and slipped and was run over by the trailer.

    Kelly says the injuries have changed his life and should never have happened.
