    Trademe is warning customers to watch out for 'scumbags', carrying out online scams

    The warning comes after a car listing was copied by a scammer and posted on Facebook marketplace, for a much lower price.

    Acting head of trust and safety Logan Mudge says regulation is crucial - as online scams become more sophisticated.

    Safety tips include not sending money overseas, not providing contact details until an auction has finished, and not releasing goods until payment has cleared.
