Turbulence could be ahead for Air New Zealand, despite a huge capital raise

    Air New Zealand
    Air New Zealand
It's trying to drum up 2.2 billion dollars, including selling 1.2 billion dollars' worth of new shares to existing shareholders.

Devon Funds head of retail, Greg Smith, says it's unclear what the airline's going to look like after the shock of Covid.

He says the price of oil is the elephant in the room because it impacts jet fuel and therefore profits.
