New Zealanders are buzzing about electric transport

New Zealanders are buzzing about electric transport

Electric scooters and bikes for hire have been around for a few years, but more recently Kiwis have been keen to own one for themselves.

In April, there was a 101 percent increase in the number of e-scooters sold on Trade Me - e-bike sales are up 10 percent on the year prior.

Trade Me spokesperson Millie Silvester says it's the latest trend, and believes rising fuel prices is probably a key driver.
