MPI's encouraging families to consider fostering a future detector dog

Beagle puppies live with families for the first 14 months of their lives before they start their 13-week detector dog training.
MPI Kennel Manager Kirsty Ansell says those interested need to have children over four, live in Auckland or Hamilton and a well fenced property.
The foster experience aims to get puppies used to different smells and environments before entering detection work.
