Costly change of plans for some holiday makers, stuck on the wrong side of the Cook Strait

Costly change of plans for some holiday makers, stuck on the wrong side of the Cook Strait

Bluebridge has confirmed it's cancelled six ferries this weekend as staff work to fix a ship ramp problem.

The mechanical issue had already left 200 passengers stranded on board the Connemara in Wellington harbour, for almost 14 hours.

The latest affected passengers told the Herald they were going to have to cut family trips short, and pay more for alternative transportation, or cancel all together because there are no car spots on other ferries.

StraitNZ has apologised, saying they're working to get things fixed as soon as possible.
