    Robbie Williams claims he had the chance to buy Blackpool Pleasure Beach

    The 47-year-old singer was offered the chance to purchase the amusement park in Lancashire after he use to visit the seaside resort when he was a youngster


    Appearing on the 'Life's a Beach' podcast, he said: "We'd get on the bus, the Ryan Hall working men's club, they'd put on a day to Blackpool. This is how my fortunes reversed...20 years later, the people that own Blackpool Pleasure Beach want to sell me Blackpool Pleasure Beach. How mental is that?"

    Asked if he was tempted, Robbie said: "I am tempted. It's not ongoing but I think if a conglomerate of showbiz types got together and revamped Blackpool. I think us end of the pier types should get together, storm the place and reinvigorate Blackpool."

    Meanwhile, it was recently reported the 'Angels' hitmaker and his wife Ayda Field are set to move to a £24 million villa on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, having quietly put their 17th century mansion in Wiltshire, South-West England, on the market.

    A source revealed: "Robbie was in a different phase of his life when he bought Compton Bassett House. It seemed like an idyllic hideaway in the English countryside but he never really felt at home there. In a matter of months he realised it wasn’t where he and Ayda wanted to settle. Now he’s planning a reshuffle of his property portfolio since deciding to buy in Switzerland. The family moved there last summer and rented for six months to make sure they wanted to stay.”

    Robbie - who also owns homes in London and Los Angeles - is now looking forward to spending the next chapter of his life in Switzerland.

    The insider explained: "They’re both really excited to have found exactly the lifestyle they were looking for in Switzerland. They’ve been there for less than a year but the children are settled in schools and they all love the calm, family vibe they’ve got going on there."
