Kylie Minogue has promised "Padam plus" at the BRIT Awards

The 55-year-old singer is the Global Icon recipient at the 2024 awards, has been nominated in the International Artist category and is set to close Saturday's (02.03.24) show at London's O2 arena with a seven-minute medley

Kylie refused to give away many details of her performance but she told Sky News on the red carpet: "We've got a few songs, that was the thing to try to navigate. I don't wanna spoil it but it's 'Padam' plus and just reminding people of the journey. It makes sense in my head, let's see how it goes tonight!"

Kylie's 2023 song 'Padam Padam' was a huge critical and commercial success for the star and she admitted she knew she wanted it as soon as she heard it.

She said: "I heard 'Padam' as a demo and reacted the same as when I heard 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'. When could I get it? On top of it being an amazing track, I felt that it was my track so that harmony helped propel it. And then we went Padam Red and now it's Padam Red forever."

Kylie - who said she was still in shock over her Global Icon award - admitted she has had a number of highs and lows in her career but was "touched" by her BRITs acknowledgement.

She said: "I think I need to go somewhere for quite some time to reflect on it because it's been 36 years since my first single when I was 19. I've done everything in reverse actually. I had that one single 'Loco-Motion' that was number one for weeks and I had to then learn what the hell I was doing. It's been a career but a lifetime of just chipping away and learning a craft.

"That's an achievement that I'm really proud of, highs and lows, and everything in between. It's not always been pleasant, let's face it.

"The '90s was tricky to reverse but we got through that. There's so much to think of and I'm just...all I can really do is bring that into a bubble of emotion. I'm very grateful, very thankful and touched. That's a lot of years and a lot of love from a lot of people. To imagine that you've been a little part of someone's life, somewhere, that's amazing."
