Celine Dion was "very, very nervous" to present Taylor Swift with an award at the Grammys

The 56-year-old music icon - who suffers from muscle stiffness and painful spasms as a result of her Stiff Person Syndrome - was "honoured" to get the chance to hand over the gong for Album of the Year to pop superstar Taylor, 34 for her 'Midnights' record earlier this year but admitted that she was concerned how she would be able to cope with the situation amid her current health woes

She told People: "It was an honour for me that they thought of me to present to Taylor Swift. It was [her] fourth [time] winning this award, which is exceptional. It was going to be my first time [back at the Grammys], and I didn't want to feel wobbly. I was going to be very, very nervous and happy at the same time.

"The applause... am I going to have a shock by seeing [the audience]? I didn't want anything bad to happen. Now I have heels and a dress that has a big opening on the leg, and I'm not sure if my legs are ready at that time. It was a lot."

But in the end, the 'My Heart Will Go On' songstress was greeted with a standing ovation and realised in that moment that she has "missed" performing and still wants to be in the public eye despite her condition.

She said: "When I felt that love, I had no doubt that [this is what] I miss and what I want. To see that I'm still in it and that they allowed me to be there... I enjoyed every moment."
