Amanda Seyfried's daughter is "obsessed" with 'Mamma Mia!'

The 38-year-old actress thinks it is "beautiful" that seven-year-old Nina - her oldest child with husband Thomas Sadoski - and her friends are big fans of the 2008 musical comedy and its 2018 sequel, 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!'

She told People magazine: "My daughter's obsessed.

"My mom showed my daughter, and my daughter is now obsessed, and so she's seven, so she's in second grade, and all her friends are obsessed. So now they're starting to recognise me as Sophie, which is a little weird, but how beautiful.

"I don't think she quite understands it, but she loves it. She loves it!

"She loves both of them, she's like, 'Can we listen to Mama Mia! right now?' Even yesterday, and I was like, 'Yeah, which one, one or two?' "

Amanda - who also has three-year-old Thomas with her spouse - admitted it is "trippy" listening to the soundtracks with her daughter.

She continued: "And then we listen, and then she'll be like, 'No, let's do 'Lay All Your Love On Me.' And I'm listening to this music with my daughter, who is now understanding and they're appreciating it in a way that."

Meanwhile, the 'Mean Girls' star called on families to rescue pets because there is a lot children can learn.

She said: "[It teaches them] a lot about life... and responsibility and saving and creating space for animals that don't otherwise would have been no longer if they'd stayed in the situation they were in, and to advocate for them and to take care of them, to teach, to care for them in general.

"It's just like that's a lesson in itself for kids, and when you add that rescue element to it, you really understand how much of a gift that is, and the fact that they can do it.

"They have the power to do it."
