Sugababes star Mutya Buena is reportedly writing a tell-all memoir

The 39-year-old singer is believed to be putting pen to paper to lift the lid on her rise to fame and her time in the pop group in a book called 'Real Girl' - which is named after her 2007 solo album and single of the same name - with a new report suggesting the tome will be released later this year

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Mutya has been in the spotlight practically her whole life and it's not been an easy ride ...

"Lots has been written and said about her in the past but she is turning 40 this year and she felt like it was the perfect time to reflect on her life and set the record straight."

The insider went on to explain Mutya had a tough time writing the book because it looks back on her past "trauma" which she has kept secret from all but her closest loved ones.

They added: "It has been an emotional process because she has delved into a lot of trauma, which she has only ever spoken about to those who are closest to her before.

"But Mutya hopes the book will bring her closer to fans and help people who have had similar experiences in their personal lives."

Mutya was part of the original Sugababes line-up alongside Siobhan Donaghy and Keisha Buchanan, but quit the band in 2005 and went on to carve out a solo career.

The band went through a number of line-up changes over the years and the original members later formed their own group Mutya Keisha Siobhan before returning as the Sugababes after winning back the right to use the name.
