Zac Brown's proposal to Kendra Scott involved "30 elephants, birds flying over and hippos in the water"

The Chicken Fried singer popped the question to the 51-year-old jewellery designer in July and he's revealed some more details about how he asked her to marry him, though he didn't explain where it took place

He told Fox News Digital: "So, we were actually on a river.

"And on a barge with 30 elephants on the bank and the sun setting and birds flying over and hippos in the water. And I got it good."

The 47-year-old star - who has Justice, 18, Lucy, 17, Georgia, 16, Joni, 14, and Alexander, 11, with first wife Shelly Brown and was previously also married to Kelly Yadzi - insisted his relationship with Kendra is different to his previous unions.

He said: "It's not our first go around, but it's definitely so much different than anything I've experienced before. And I'm so grateful that we found each other and that we can relate to being leaders. We can relate and support each other on a level that just hasn't happened before, so I love her heart."

And Zac is pleased he and Kendra - who has Cade, 23, and Beck, 21, with first husband John Scottrey, and Grey, 11, with second spouse Matt Davis - have made progress with blending their families.

He said: "It's been incredible. My kids adore her. She's got a couple older boys. She's had, you know, kind of a rough go. And with some of them, and rightfully so, they should be very protective of that."

"But I think as we get to know each other, they get to know me better and understand it.

"She's got amazing kids as well. She has a son that's the same age as my son. Incredible. Her kids, and it's a testament to her as a mother. Like, she's been through all of the things she's built. She's been an incredible mom."

Zac and Kelly announced their engagement in July, just two months after debuting their relationship at at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The happy couple told PEOPLE: "We are so happy and grateful that we found each other."

A source added to the publication: "They were set up by a mutual friend, and are totally in love. They are head over heels and have become inseparable."
