Katy Perry is "very particular" about fragrance

The Firework hitmaker always opts for very similar scents so she's a big fan of Dolce+ Gabbana's new perfume My Devotion.

Katy - who is a beauty ambassador for the brand - told Australia's Marie Claire magazine: "It's very luscious and sweet.

"I'm very particular about my scent, and I've never really strayed far from certain ingredients.

"Devotion is my new elevated version of that cocktail.

    "It felt so authentically me.

"I felt cosy and sweet and young and delicious. It felt like flirting and falling in love for the first time."

The 41-year-old singer is attached to particular scents because of the memories they evoke.

She explained: "The scent of the ocean and salty crisp air take me back to Santa Barbara, where I was born.

"And the scent of vanilla, which I've been wearing since I was 15."

Katy is proud to work with Dolce and Gabbana because of their "creative boldness".

She said: "I admire the work of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

"I love their creative boldness, unmistakable style and connection with their roots, which is evident in everything they do.

"They built this brand from the ground up, and it has evolved so magnificently over the decades."

The Teenage Dream singer - who has five-year-old daughter Daisy with former fiancé Orlando Bloom - shot the campaign for the fragrance on the Italian island of Capri and she had a wonderful time.

She said: "It's beautiful topography is the perfect setting for the most incredible parties, romances, celebrations.

"There's so much life and authentic Italian vibes, it's like the whole of Italy on one small island.

"I brought my mum and her friend [as I shot the campaign]."
