Jenny McCarthy has vowed never to return to The View

The former Playboy model was a co-host on the panel for just a year from 2013 to 2014 and while she was brought on board to provide "light, fluffy and fun" commentary on topics such as reality TV, things swiftly changed and she felt out of her depth.

Asked if she thought she'd ever be invited back to The View on The Katie Miller Podcast, she said: "The reason why they wanted to bring me on is because they, quote, said it was too polarising. They thought it was too polarising back then, you guys!"

Of her "fluffy" commentary, she added: "Well, that lasted a week. That lasted a whole week. And back then, I didn't consider myself to be a political person, which is why I thought I was perfect for the job. After a week, when they said they wanted to get political, I was like, 'Oh my God, what am I going to do?' "

"They're like, 'today we're going to be discussing the hostage situation and whether the United States government should pay the ransom or not. And I was like, 'What?'

"I'm like, 'I just know who won Dancing with the Stars.' So getting through that year was really difficult."

Although the 53-year-old star noted she is "much more political" now than during her stint on The View because "our latest administration has helped so much", the Masked Singer judge insisted it doesn't mean she is opening to returning to the daytime show.

She said: "But, back then? Ooh, I would not, I would never even.

"They've asked me to come back for, like, reunion shows. I was like, over my dead body would I ever step foot in that place."

Jenny can currently be seen guessing the identities of the mystery celebrities behind the elaborate costumes on The Masked Singer.

And she previously revealed that her dream contestant on the show would be Toxic hitmaker Britney Spears.

She told Extra: "It would be really amazing if we got Britney Spears on the show. So, Britney: come on down!"
