Alex Trebek urged fans to “keep the faith” in a video filmed before he passed away this month

The beloved ‘Jeopardy!’ host sadly lost his battle with stage four pancreatic cancer on November 8 at the age of 80, but has posthumously delivered a message of “kindness” in a video filmed before his passing, which was pre-recorded to mark Thanksgiving on Thursday (26.11.20)

In the video - which featured in Thursday’s episode of ‘Jeopardy!’ and was then posted online by the game show’s official Twitter account - Alex said: "You know, in spite of what America and the rest of the world is experiencing right now, there are many reasons to be thankful. There are more and more people extending helpful hands to do a kindness to their neighbours, and that's a good thing.

"Keep the faith. We’re gonna get through all of this and we will be a better society because of it."

Alex was recently confirmed to have been cremated, and his wife Jean - with whom he had daughter Emily, 27, and 30-year-old son Matthew - has kept the ashes at the couple’s Studio City home.

The news comes after Alex’s wife recently broke her silence on her husband’s passing, as she thanked everyone for their "compassionate messages and generosity”.

Posting on Instagram, Jean wrote: "My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity. Your expressions have truly touched our hearts. Thank you so very, very much.

    “Many Blessings to all,

    “Jean Trebek.”

Meanwhile, the late TV legend's final episode of 'Jeopardy!' is set to air on Christmas Day (25.12.20).

A message on the show's Twitter reads: "Today's show features a special message on behalf of everyone in the Jeopardy! family.

"Alex taped shows through December 25th, 2020. They will air as he intended, in his honor. (sic)"
