Amanda Bynes has turned to Ozempic in a bid to reach her ideal weight

The 39-year-old star has revealed via social media that she's turned to the well-known weight-loss drug in a bid to reach 130 lbs

In a video shared on Instagram, Amanda explained: "I'm going on Ozempic. So excited.

"I'm 173 now so I hope to get down to like 130, which would be awesome so I look better in paparazzi pictures."

The Love Wrecked star - who began her career as a child actor - has promised to keep her social media followers up to date with her weight-loss journey.

She said: "I will post about my Ozempic journey of course."

Last year, Amanda revealed that she'd gained more than 20 lbs, after suffering with depression.

The actress - who has previously battled mental health struggles and drug addiction - insisted that she was on the road to recovery, after overcoming the worst of her health issues.

Appearing on Instagram in March 2024, Amanda shared: "I'm doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don't feel like working out or eating clean.

"I weigh 162 lbs. right now and want to get back to 110 lbs."

Amanda shot to fame as a child on Nickelodeon and went on to have a successful career in Hollywood. However, she quit the entertainment business over a decade ago after enduring a number of personal problems, including an addiction to the ADHD prescription medication Adderall.

Amanda launched her own podcast in 2023, but she pulled the plug on the project after just one episode so that she could pursue a more steady job.

The former child star revealed that she was quitting podcasting and was instead working towards getting her "manicurist license".

At the time, she wrote on Instagram: "The 1st episode of my podcast did really well. I was actually surprised and of course was going to keep going after friends encouraged me to.

"After thinking about it, though, I would rather get my manicurist license and have a consistent job.

"I'm going to follow that path instead. Thank you for following my journey! (sic)"
