Dax Shepard will always consider his marriage to Kristen Bell to be a success - even if they split up

The 50-year-old star has been married to Kristen since 2013 and he'll always consider their relationship to be a success, regardless of what the future holds for them

Dax - who has Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10, with the Hollywood star - said on the Armchair Expert podcast: "I say this all the time, like, if Kristen and I ever split up, I would only describe this as still an enormously successful relationship."

Dax will always cherish the memories he's created with Kristen, even if they go their separate ways in the future.

The actor explained that they've had a "great time together".

He continued: "We loved each other to death. We had these two beautiful children. We had this great time together."

Meanwhile, Kristen previously revealed that she tries to set a positive example for her kids.

The actress explained that she and her husband try to deal with their problems in the healthiest way possible, so that their children can learn from their example.

Kristen - who previously voiced Princess Anna in Disney's Frozen film franchise - told People: "We always make up in front of them if anyone gets snarky or frustrated or fights, which we all do.

"We do not have the makeup, our conflict resolution, be behind closed doors. Even if at dinner, let's say, one of us is frustrated and is a little snarky and then we go to bed. We'll apologise to each other the next morning.

"Then we will apologise and make amends to each other in front of the kids so that they can see how conflict resolution actually happens."

Despite this, Kristen and Dax initially tried to adopt a hands-off approach to parenting.

The actress previously told TODAY: "When we had our first child, we said we wanted to be 'second child parents,' and we made an agreement that if she wanted to do something, as long as it didn't require a trip to the hospital, she'd be allowed to do it."
