Tom Holland is "on the mend"

The 29-year-old actor was taken to hospital on 19 September with "mild concussion" after he was injured shooting a stunt for his new movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day but after a week long break from filming, Tom has reassured fans he is "feeling better".

Tom shared video footage from a gala event for his family's charity The Brothers Trust, which he attended with fiancee and co-star Zendaya the day after his accident, on Instagram, and revealed he had left early but was now doing well.

He captioned the post: "What a night! Another huge success. The Brother's Trust means more to me than I could possibly say and I have to say a huge thank you to my Mum and her wonderful friends for putting on another incredible night.

"Raising money for fantastic causes and having fun doing it! I'm sorry I had to leave early but I'm feeling better and on the mend. A huge thanks to my Dad for taking over after I left. The show got considerably funnier.

"Thank you to all our attendees and especially our winners of the sweepstakes. Thanks also to everyone worldwide who contributed to our sweeps, raising much-needed funds for some tremendous charities. "

It was recently claimed that Tom's accident "wasn't as bad" as initially thought.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column earlier this week: "The accident wasn't as bad as people think. A line snapped on a pull ring and he got a bump on his bonce.

"Filming was supposed to start again in London on Thursday, but for now the production team have been told to stand down for two weeks.

"Tom has been taking it easy as he had a suspected concussion and no one wants him to rush back to set."

The publication reports the delay to the production will not affect the film's release date, which is still set for July 31 2026.

Tom previously teased that Spider-Man: Brand New Day - which will see the return of Zendaya, 29, as Michelle 'MJ' Jones-Watson, and Jacob Batalon, 28, as Ned Leeds - would feel like a "breath of fresh air", like his original 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming.

He told Flip Your Wig: "It's gonna feel like making [Spider-Man: Homecoming] again. It's been such a long time that I've done it that it's gonna feel like a breath of fresh air. "And I think the fans are gonna be over the moon with what we're putting together."
