Charli XCX is "quite a volatile person"

The 33-year-old singer stars in The Moment, a new mockumentary directed and co-written by Aidan Zamiri that was inspired by Charli's real-life music tour, and she's now revealed how she relates to her on-screen character.

Speaking at the Sundance Film Festival, Charli shared: "I'm obviously quite related to my character, so I had a lot of inspiration to pull from.

"I would like to think I'm not as much of a nightmare as Charli in the film, but my real managers are in the audience and they probably know the true answer to that."

Charli observed that her on-screen character experiences some "spiral moments" in the movie. And the pop star compared and contrasted her real-life self to her on-screen character.

She said: "I have been there. I think I am, as an artist, quite a volatile person. And nice though. I am quite nice too. Right?"

Meanwhile, Addison Rae previously credited Charli for playing a big role in her own success.

The 25-year-old star has made a successful transition from TikTok to the music business, and Addison acknowledged that Charli has played an instrumental role in her recent successes.

The Diet Pepsi hitmaker - who has worked extensively with Charli in recent years - told Rolling Stone magazine: "[Meeting] Charli XCX was an obviously pivotal moment in my life. She has been such a big sister and mentor for me."

Addison still has vivid memories of her first-ever meeting with Charli and she admitted to admiring her fearless approach to life.

The pop star - who developed a huge following on TikTok before switching her focus towards music - said: "She burst into the room in Ugg boots and hot pants after parking her pink Tesla in the driveway and exclaimed, 'Boys are stupid!' and then immediately was like, 'Wait, we should write a song about that!' I know that sounds simple and maybe silly to some people, but to me that was such a sign of instinct and fearlessness."
