Minnie Driver believes "self-love and self-acceptance" are key to escaping the "trap" of being "frightened of losing your looks"

The 56-year-old Hollywood actress has revealed she's accepted the ageing process and is happy with her appearance and she's shared her wisdom on the best way to get older with grace.

She told The Times Magazine: "I love my body and the way that I look. That is the only way you can get out of this trap of being frightened of losing your looks - through self-love and self-acceptance. I have aged with my face".

Minnie also insisted women face a terrible dilemma when it comes to having surgery to alter their appearance, adding: "If you have a facelift everyone says: 'Oh my gosh, she looks too young.'

"If you don't have a facelift they're like: 'She's not ageing correctly. She looks so old.' It is nuts. You can't win. I uphold a woman's right to do whatever she wants. I would never judge".

It comes after Minnie opened up about her personal life and admitted she is "so glad" she found love with her fiancé Addison O'Dea.

The actress - who has previously dated stars including Matt Damon and John Cusack, and was engaged to Josh Brolin - has been dating the filmmaker, 46, since 2018, but she has encouraged women to be "celebratorily OK" if they don't ever meet Mr. Right.

She told Grazia magazine: "1,000 per cent embrace the notion that you're never going to meet anyone ever again. Sit with it. Become celebratorily OK with it.

"Then if a guy walks into your life - great. And if a guy doesn't walk into your life - also great. I would've been fine if Addison had never shown up, though I'm so glad he did."

The Good Will Hunting star added that women shouldn't feel "incomplete" if they don't have a man in their lives, saying: "But we've got to get over the idea that we are incomplete if we don't have a man. It's not true."

Last year, Minnie gushed over Addison, admitting she trusts him with her "whole heart".

She told PEOPLE magazine: "I trust him with all of my heart ... Addy doesn't have an ulterior motive. What I've realised is love is made up of all these things, but I've never seen them right off the bat in a person: respect, kindness, compassion, friendship, intelligence, humour and enormous security. I saw them very quickly in Addison."
