Hilary Duff has taken up crocheting because she needed to "do something" with her hands after her concerts

The singer and actress has already made a hat and a scarf using the needlecraft technique, and she loves crafting to wind down when she has come off stage.

Hilary also told how she enjoys undergoing a facial to relax.

Asked what is "cool" to her, Hilary told i-D magazine: "An early bedtime and a great night's sleep. Or a facial.

    "I've started crocheting too.

"After the show last night, my body was telling me I had to do something with my hands, so I did that. So far, I've made a hat and a scarf."

As well as using her hands to crochet new garments, Hilary also uses her digits to scroll through social media.

The star has told how she uses TikTok as a "news source", and she can often be found performing "mindless scrolling" on Instagram.

She added: "I tap TikTok when I need to find out about something quickly.

"Almost like it was ChatGPT or a news source.

"Instagram is where I do my mindless scrolling."

However, Hilary admitted her TikTok algorithm is often behind the times, as her husband, Matthew Koma, knows only too well.

She said: "I enjoy living in the private life of my TikTok feed. It's so slow.

"I'll think something's happened and I'll show Matt, and he'll tell me it happened two years ago."

But Lizzie McGuire star Hilary is "not ashamed" of being "a little slower" to hear the latest news.

She explained: "I'm a millennial, so I'm not ashamed for things to be a little slower."

Hilary previously told how she and Matthew play tennis together, so they "still like each other" in years to come.

Speaking in 2023, she told Women's Health magazine: "I play tennis every Sunday. My husband and I have that together, which is really nice. About two years ago, I told him: 'Here's the deal: We need a sport so we still like each other when the kids leave the house'.

"So now, we ski, which is obviously seasonal. And we play tennis together, which is really fun."
