Police have issued more than 200 infringement notices to drivers involved in a large gang funeral procession on Auckland's North Shore

Police have issued more than 200 infringement notices to drivers involved in a large gang funeral procession on Auckland's North Shore

More than 100 motorcycles and 150 cars are thought to have been involved in the procession earlier this month.

Police received more than 40 complaints of cars being driven on the wrong side of the road, passengers sitting outside car windows, dangerous overtaking, and burnouts close to pedestrians.

Two motorcycles and a car have been impounded with more likely to follow.

Inspector Simon Walker says, while police understand those involved were grieving, the driving presented a 'very real risk' to those involved and members of the public.
