An Auckland man is facing charges after failing to stop for Police in the early hours of this morning

An Auckland man is facing charges after failing to stop for Police in the early hours of this morning

Police signalled the man's SUV to stop on St Lukes Road in Mt Albert around 3:30, but accelerated away at speed towards west Auckland.

Spikes were deployed, but the car continued on rims before eventually stopping on the Southern Motorway near Otahuhu's Princes Street.

The 31-year-old will appear in court today on charges including failing to stop and reckless driving.
