A Wellington rugby club has lost its liquor licence after a patron's drink driving, led to the death of a young woman

A Wellington rugby club has lost its liquor licence after a patron's drink driving, led to the death of a young woman

Jason Tuitama has been jailed after hitting two pedestrians - killing Casidhe Maguire - in June last year.

The victim's father Paul Maguire has been fighting against the renewal of the Johnsonville Rugby Club's licence, where Tuitama was drinking that night.

A Wellington District Licensing Committee decision says based on the evidence, they're not confident this applicant will sell and supply alcohol safely and responsibly.

The club's existing licence will end in June.
