A call for police to speak out on the fatal shooting of Kaoss Price ... to stop online speculation

The 22-year-old was shot dead by police during a vehicle stop on State Highway 3 near New Plymouth - on Saturday night.

He rammed a police car, after they'd stopped a vehicle he was following in convoy.

ACT party police spokesperson Chris Baillie says police need to show leadership while investigating the shooting.

Baillie says a lot of misinformation about the circumstances of the death are circulating ... so more official details about it need to come out faster.

Police are expected to provide more information later this week.
