Tough times for the country's billion dollar auto repair industry

Demand for parts and repairs has fallen 31 per cent compared to pre-Covid levels due to fewer vehicles on the road.

On top of that, the industry is faced with skill-shortages and inflation.

Collision Repair Network general manager Neil Pritchard says it's a perfect storm.

He says it comes down to there being less traffic, less congestion - meaning fewer accidents.
