Matt Payne's using a missed opportunity from last year's Taupo event as motivation as the Supercars series gets set for the New Zealand leg of this year's championship

Matt Payne's using a missed opportunity from last year's Taupo event as motivation as the Supercars series gets set for the New Zealand leg of this year's championship

The 22-year-old Aucklander blitzed the top 10 shootout to bag pole position for the second race on Kiwi soil in 2024.

Payne says while it was a memorable day - including a presentation from former Supercars driver Greg Murphy - he wants to go the whole way this time around.

Practice in Taupo starts on Friday - with two races on Saturday and one on Sunday.

MOTORSPORT WITH CRC 'METAL ARMOUR' PRIMER AND SEALER. AVAILABLE NOW.
