    Labour Weekend has come to a close - with two fatalities on our roads


    40-year-old Whakatane man Daniel Henriksen died early Sunday morning - after a single-vehicle crash on Morrinsville's Matuku Road.

    That afternoon, a person on Auckland's Waiheke Island died - when a motorbike crashed into a tree.

    There were no deaths on Labour Weekend last year - but five in both 2023 and 2022, and seven in 2021.
