One person was killed and another seriously injured, after their vehicle was hit by an alleged fleeing driver south-east of Hamilton last night

One person was killed and another seriously injured, after their vehicle was hit by an alleged fleeing driver south-east of Hamilton last night

At around 8.40pm Police saw a black BMW speeding on Waipa's Arapuni Road, and turned on its red and blue lights to try and stop it.

Police say it appears the offending car then collided with a second vehicle.

Two people in the BMW were seriously injured, while two others received minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was killed.

    Police have several investigations underway.

They're seeking any witnesses or any footage of the events leading up to the crash.
