Hundreds of people have already made the most of pop-up Covid-19 testing centres this weekend

Hundreds of people have already made the most of pop-up Covid-19 testing centres this weekend

Yesterday sites were set up in the south Auckland suburb of Manurewa and Christchurch as authorities continued efforts to rule out the potential for Covid-19 in our communities.

In Manurewa 10 cars were waiting for the 9am opening - with 153 people tested by the day's end.

Meanwhile in Christchurch 326 people were tested by the time the pop-up centre closed at 4pm.

It came as yesterday marked 99 days since the last reported case of community transmission.

The Ministry of Health says details of additional pop-up clinics will be available early next week.
