Claims Auckland is in a mess - and it will trickle down, hurting the rest of the country

Claims Auckland is in a mess - and it will trickle down, hurting the rest of the country

The middle four lanes of the Auckland Harbour Bridge remain closed after a truck blew over in the wind on Friday, damaging part of the infrastructure.

Travel time for some heading southbound into the city has already doubled or even tripled this morning.

Auckland Business Chamber chief executive Michael Barnett says the supply chain out of Auckland is critical, and it's going to have an immediate effect on our neighbours.

He says it's all about planning, and something needs to be done before a disaster happens.
