Mount Hutt's high-speed chairlift is just about ready to go for next month's start to the ski season

Mount Hutt's high-speed chairlift is just about ready to go for next month's start to the ski season

The multi-million dollar eight seater will replace a quad chair - and can take three thousand people to the top in an hour.

Manager James McKenzie says it will relieve skier congestion in the basin area, and make the lift system more reliable.

He says tomorrow's a big day with weight tests on the lift, and the contractors will soon hand it over.

The mountain's due to open on June 11.
