A big dump of snow has stopped travellers in Fiordland, in their tracks

A big dump of snow has stopped travellers in Fiordland, in their tracks

Snow is falling to low levels in the lower south - including Dunedin - with Milford Road collecting a heavy coating.

MetService meteorologist Dan Corrigan says a further 20 to 30 centimetres is due to settle on the road by this evening.

He says there's a heavy snow warning for Fiordland with snow landing as low as 200 metres

Waka Kotahi has closed access into Milford between Hollyford and Chasm.
