The SPCA are concerned for the welfare of Toa the orca who has been stranded for nine days

The SPCA are concerned for the welfare of Toa the orca who has been stranded for nine days

Toa has been cared for by DOC volunteers in a 32,000-litre pool after losing his family in Wellington.

SPCA Chief Scientific Officer Arnja Dale says DOC will soon to make a challenging decision to put him down or release him.

She says keeping him in a pool is a non-deal outcome... the water in the Wellington harbour needs to clear up so he can be put back in the ocean where he belongs.
