The wet weather's on its way out - but it's taking its time in some parts of the country

The wet weather's on its way out - but it's taking its time in some parts of the country

MetService has issued an orange heavy rain warning in Hawkes Bay from four this afternoon.

A watch is already in place near Wairoa and Waipukurau.

Meanwhile NZTA's advising caution on the roads - with highway closures in the Waikato, Taranaki, Nelson and Canterbury regions due to slips.

Metereologist Luis Fernandes , says the rain should settle down into tomorrow - but there may still be a few showers and cloudy conditions.

He says it may be a little bit colder in the North, particularly Auckland and surrounding areas - where it's been unseasonably warm recently.
