    Fresh warnings of possible surface and flash flooding in central parts of the North Island


    MetService is issuing a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for inland parts of Bay of Plenty, east from Rotorua - between one and 9pm.

    It includes eastern Taupo, inland Gisborne/Tairawhiti and the Wairoa District.

    There could be localised downpours - with 25 to 40 millimetres of rain an hour.
