Another major South Island event is biting the dust

The Canterbury A and P show has officially been cancelled - for a second year in a row.

ChristchurchNZ and the Agricultural Show had requested the event be a trial for the Covid-19 vaccine certificate - but were unable to get approval on time.

The three Cup and Show events - the Agricultural Show, Addington Cup Week and Riccarton Park Races - were expected to generate more than four million dollars of visitor spend.
