We're expecting a written Ministry of Health Covid case numbers update at 1pm

More than 320 cases were confirmed over the weekend -- including four in the Bay of Plenty DHB area, four from Lakes DHB - and cases in Wellington, Canterbury and Hawke's Bay.

At last update, 83 people were in hospital, five in ICU.

Across the Tasman, unvaccinated travellers are now effectively banned from entering the Northern Territory, with remote communities in lockdown after new community cases over the weekend.

Victoria has again recorded more than one-thousand new Covid cases and three more deaths.

New South Wales has 180 new cases and one death, and the A.C.T. is also continuing to record community cases.
