Labour is daring National to put its stake in the ground over an Act member's bill on climate change

Labour is daring National to put its stake in the ground over an Act member's bill on climate change

The bill - put into the biscuit tin by Mark Cameron - aims to ban local governments from considering climate change in their planning.

Labour climate spokesperson Megan Woods says this will include councils in regions hammered by climate-driven weather events.

She says decisions on land use will be critical for climate adaptation, and National will have to show its hand and vote.

Woods says this is about how we keep people living in the regions safe from the impacts of climate change.
