A long recovery ahead for Nelson Tasman

A long recovery ahead for Nelson Tasman

The region remains in a state of emergency after being hammered by back-to-back severe weather events.

Most local sections of state highway are open but caution is advised due to lasting damage.

Rural land in the Motueka and Wai-Iti Valley appear to be the most impacted.

Emergency Management group controller Roger Ball says several houses in the area were already red-stickered.
