A mouthwatering Kiwi kayaking showdown looms at Paris Olympics, after Aimee Fisher and Danielle McKenzie booked the K2 at Oceania qualifiers

A mouthwatering Kiwi kayaking showdown looms at the Paris Olympics, after Aimee Fisher and Danielle McKenzie booked the K2 500 metre boat at the Oceania qualifiers yesterday in Sydney

That's set to also allow Fisher to renew her individual rivalry with Dame Lisa Carrington.

The Olympic champion had sewn up the sole New Zealand K1 500 spot but now Fisher - one of the only athletes to beat Carrington, let alone push her, in recent history - is all but certain to line up against her in France.

Canoe Racing NZ general manager of performance Nathan Luce can't wait.
