Mahe Drysdale thinks the men's eight could still be a contender at next year's Olympics if given the chance

The eight missed out on automatic qualification for Tokyo at the World Championships in Austria after finishing sixth in the A Final.

The next qualifying avenue is the last chance regatta in Lucerne in May where two more spots are available, but there's no guarantee they will go.

Drysdale says he will also consider a switch back to trying to secure the single sculls spot for Tokyo.
