    A possible new contender for the men's single sculls boat in the next phase of Rowing New Zealand's buildup to next year's Olympics


    Phillip Wilson - part of the gold-medal winning eight crew in Tokyo - claimed the single sculls title at last week's nationals.

    Wilson says up until now he's been mainly focussing on helping the coxless four boat qualify for the Paris Games.



    Trials next month will help determine a provisional national squad for those World Champs in Belgrade.
