Kiwi high jumper Hamish Kerr's welcoming the prospect of prize money should he win a gold medal at this year's Paris Olympics

Kiwi high jumper Hamish Kerr's welcoming the prospect of prize money should he win a gold medal at this year's Paris Olympics

While other track and field meets have regularly offered prize money, the Olympics has been seen as sacrosanct.

That will change this year and Kerr says it's an exciting move.

Silver and bronze medallists in track and field at the LA 2028 games are expected to receive prize money.
