New South Wales prop Payne Haas is free to play next weekend's second State of Origin game in Brisbane after avoiding sanction from the 46-nil NRL loss to South Sydney

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

Haas was sweating on the charge sheet but has avoided suspension after being placed on report twice in the loss, once for a high shot on Cameron Murray and later for a crusher tackle on Souths forward Mark Nicholls.

But the news is far from positive for teammate Tevita Pangai Junior.

Less than a day after it was revealed he was free to leave Brisbane, the backrower is facing a four-week ban for a crusher tackle.
